Wednesday Night Vespers, Catechism Class, & Bible Study

Starting on Wednesday evening, September 15 at the North Campus, we will begin a Wednesday evening Daily Vespers followed by a light lenten meal starting at 6:00 PM. At 7:00 PM, we will have our adult catechism class on Wednesday evenings as well as Bible Study led by Father Nicholas Long on the Gospel of Matthew. This is a great time to come learn more about our Orthodox Faith. (Catechism and Bible Study will happen at the same time so you can attend one or the other.)

Thursday Morning Class "The Early Life of the Church" with Fr. Dan Daly Starting September 16

Fr Daniel will offer a daytime class on Thursdays at 10:30 AM at the North Campus starting September 16. The classes will examine the very early life of the church from ancient documents. We will examine how they worshipped, their life of faith and morals, and what they read. Those who attend may bring up any topic or matter of interest to them. The class will last about an hour.

Cigars & Scotch – Sunday, October 3

We’ll have our next men’s fellowship Cigars and Scotch evening at the North Campus on Sunday, October 3 at 6:30 PM. We’ll enjoy a time of fellowship around the fire pit. Bring: Your favorite drink (soft and/or hard), cigars, hookah, or pipe (you don’t have to smoke to come), snacks to share, & lawn chair to sit on.

Ladies Guild Brunch Sunday, October 3

The Ladies Guild will gather for brunch Sunday, October 3 at 12:30 PM at Chez Z for a time of fellowship and getting to know each other. Theological Book Club

We are starting a reading group going over some important works of historical, patristic, and dogmatic theology. Our first book will be Fr John Behr's Way to Nicea. Please acquire the book and read the Introduction and first chapter prior to the first meeting on October 16th, 3PM at North Campus. Email skim@svots.edu for more information.
